Aquamin - Marine Minerals
“Ingredient of the Year in the Healthy Ageing Category at the 2016 Nutra Ingredients Awards”
What is Aquamin?
In the pristine waters of the North Atlantic, where the warm waters of the Gulf Stream is mixed with the colder waters of the Arctic, an ideal environment is created for a type of red marine algae which is the main ingredient of Aquamin. This red algae has the unique ability to absorb calcium and magnesium into its cell walls, where they create a rigid honeycomb cell structure.
It is this specific structure, combined with 72 other trace minerals from the sea that makes the multimineral complex which is Aquamin. It’s also this structure that makes Aquamin more bioactive than calcium that is traditionally derived from limestone.
